In the clip Mark Cuban discusses his version of the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement. It’s always interesting to hear a BILLIONARE’S thoughts on how to manage money. There’s a chance they can be out of touch with reality, but Mark is a pretty down to earth guy who has a good grasp on the principles of what makes someone financially successful. Although it was a quick clip, Mark gave some great nuggets of info. I loved when he said that the most valuable asset you can have is time. It sounds corny, but it’s true. It is really the only asset in this world that we can’t buy, so it’s really important to use it to the best of our advantage (learning, investing, focusing on health). The next thing that he mentioned was to live like a student. Although I don’t agree with taking that literally, I do think that the main point here is to limit your expenses as much as you can and with that savings, invest in assets that can eventually pay you enough to cover your lifestyle. That’s financial freedom.
