StockX Review

StockX is one of the best platforms for purchasing or selling all kinds of street wear on the secondary market. It operates just like the stock market, allowing sellers to post their items with ask prices and buyers to post bid prices. From there, the seller can decide whether to accept the offer closest to their ask price… or wait to see if someone else bids a higher price.

I’ll take you through my experience:

First and foremost, it pains me to say that I did something considered sacrilegious in the sneaker community: I sold my Jordan Cement 3’s. It was a very tough decision, but I had them for about 6 years and literally never put them on my feet.

Setting up my profile was extremely easy. I just created a user name and password and linked my account to PayPal so purchasing and selling would be a breeze. What I liked most about the experience was that I didn’t have to take any pictures of my shoes. StockX has prepopulated images of every shoe or article of clothing imaginable, so I just entered the model information and boom! it was there like magic. After my sneakers were posted, it was exciting to check my phone to see if someone had bid and if so, how close they came to my asking price. After about a week they finally sold for full ask! When I accepted the bid, StockX emailed me a prepaid label and I had 2 days to ship it to them for authentication. Once it was authenticated, they sent the funds directly to my PayPal account and the shoes to the buyer. It was really great not having to haggle directly with the buyer like you would on something like eBay. They charged me a 9.5% transaction fee and 3% payment processing fee, which I was fine paying since I really didn’t do any heavy lifting. It’s definitely a do over if I have anything else worth selling.
